Damn It Looks Good to Be a Gangster: Rob to join The Mad Ones?
Our good friend Amanda, The Twilight Examiner, brought us the news that Rob Pattinson is being considered among a long list of A-list stars to play New York City gangster Crazy Joe Gallo in the upcoming film The Mad Ones.
Us Magazine reports:
"I was talking to [author] Tom [Folsom] about who he wants to play Joe Gallo if you make this book into a movie. He said one of the ones he really wants is Leonard DiCaprio" producer Harvey Weinstein [said] at The Mad Ones book party in NYC Monday.
(Gallo -- a mafia associate known as "Crazy Joe" -- was portrayed by actor Joe Mantegna in the Godfather Part III.)
Who else could play the role?
"Rob Pattinson, James Franco, Leo...there's a bunch of guys," Weinstein goes on.
But Weinstein is a fan of Pattinson after working with him at the amfAR benefit in which he auctioned off two kisses to raise money for AIDS research.
"Rob Pattinson, I made him kiss girls in Cannes. He's the most charming, wonderful young man," Weinstein [says.] "He really cared about the charity, and that's not an easy thing to do. That's a sweet, sweetheart thing to do. And then we got two bids."
Who knew a few underage kisses would get him so far?

Robert Pattinson in NYC!
After Twilight's big win on Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards, Robert Pattinson did not linger in Los Angeles and headed to NYC. Robert was greated by the usual photogs and had a police escort out of JFK.
Robert will begin shooting Remember Me this summer as reported 2 weeks ago while in Cannes.
Doesn't he remind you of Dylan from the O.G. 90210? LOL

Cannes Hook-Up Rumor Debunked
Normally Lainey let's her hate flag fly when it comes to Rob and Twilight in general, but lately she has been his most valiant supporter. I don't expect it to last, but I am glad she is has enough journalistic integrity to call BS when she sees it.
Zoe further reinforces the inaccuracy of the hookup rumor on her own blog:
My heart bleeds for the boy, it really does. His entire life has been hijacked by a role that he took on a whim; he never expected fame of this magnitude. Poor boy can't even walk down the street to pick up some new underpants without being swarmed by fans and photographers alike. It has to be completely unnerving for him.
Not to mention, he is 23 and deserves to go out and party all he wants. I'd like to add, for the record, that I would be more than happy to host that party. Rob, are you listening? Call me. I've got some Heineken and tequila. Let's do this.

Zoe has reported for the Daily Telegraph and the Mirror and can get smutty and scandalous when the story takes her there. She was there. That night at amfAR. And you know she was watching. She was watching and she saw Robert Pattinson pretty much on his best behaviour. And no Erika at all.

I met Robert at the actual AMFAR party (that’s where this pic was taken). He was completely sober and moaned he wasn’t having fun, but in the photo he looks a bit tipsy. I could have written a caption under it saying he looks drunk and was flirting with me but the fact is he wasn’t drunk but has weird eyes and he has no time to flirt!

Good news girls – Robert Pattinson is officially single.
I waltzed over for a little flirt as soon as I saw him at the AmFar charity dinner in the exclusive Hotel du Cap in Antibes.
After warming him up by telling him he is the second best looking vampire in the world, (because Brad Pitt was in Interview With a Vampire), we had a long chat about all matters of the heart.
I just wanted to eat Robert up / snog his face off when he told me: “I haven’t had a girlfriend in ages. I’m not very settled at all. I’ve spent every night of the last six months in hotel rooms around the world. I haven’t been back to my parents house in six whole months.There is no way a girl would put up with that.”
Uhhhh, HELLOOOOO – I’d give it a damn good shot and I’m sure many other girls would consider it. [*waves hands obnoxiously* ME! Oh, me! Pick me!]

It must be so awkward to just stand there and know people are taking a million pictures of you, but Rob pulls it off and looks AMAZING.

Rob's Le Grande Journal Interview - Translated!
We finally have a decent translation of the video we posted earlier of Rob's interview with Le Grande Journal yesterday afternoon.
Translation of questions and answers
1. Rob sat next to Eric Cantona who used to be a famous soccer player back in the day. So they told him since he’s from England he must be a soccer fan and they asked him which team he supported. Rob said he’s a supporter of Arsenal.
2. Then they said that each time Rob goes somewhere, he has millions of hysterical fans following him or waiting for him. So they asked him how he deals with this. Rob said he just ignores it or else he would end up not knowing who he really is.
3. They said that the NM is still being shot now and they showed the new poster which was released today. They asked him when will the filming of NM end. Rob said he has 4 days of filming left in Italy.
4. They asked him if he can give away a few secrets on the NM filming. Rob said there’s no secret since it’s based on the book and whoever read the book knows what’s coming. He said the character I play leaves his girlfriend and she starts seeing someone else. They asked him to reassure his fans that he comes back at the end and that we still see him throughout the movie. Rob said that indeed we see him in the movie as he appears as a ghost.
5. They asked him if he knew that Twilight would be such a big hit for him when he first accepted to play Edward Cullen. Rob said no, not at all. Every day, it surprises him more and more and that he still can’t get used to it. He said it was supposed to be a small movie when he first signed in and that it turned out to be a huge success.
6. They told him that they heard that because of all the hysteria going on, he registers under different nicknames in hotels and that back in January he was registered under “Clive Handjob.” Rob said yes, that’s the name I used when I was in Paris.
7. They asked him if he enjoys playing in Twilight or does he already feels like going in another direction. Rob said that he knew from the beginning that it was a trilogy and that for now he’s focused on Twilight. He said he’ll probably do take on different roles after Twilight. They said he had already a new project and he played Dali in Little Ashes (they showed the poster). Rob said yes it came out last month.
8. They asked him if he thinks that his fans will be a little shocked with him playing Dali. But the main interviewer didn’t let Rob answer and he went on saying that they’re going to show a clip from the Twilight DVD.
9. Then the lady interviewer in fangs asked if Rob can give her a kiss. So Rob kindly obliged.
10. And finally they thank him for being on the show and they say that even though he’s very young, he remains grounded despite all the craziness surrounding him and that they respect him for that and for his talent as an actor. They ask Eric Cantona what he thinks about the way Rob handles everything. Eric says it’s important not to lose sight of who he is and that Rob seems smart so he doesn’t need to worry about that. So Rob thanks Eric for saying that.

Kristen Stewart still in Vancouver
While Robert Pattinson is in Cannes promoting his latest projects, Kristen is still filming(?) in Vancouver. It seems Ms. Stewart had a rough weekend, I only say this because she was scene around town walking and talking on her cell phone (which is the nice way of saying leave me alone!) and looks like I do after staying too late at the 100Monkeys gigs (2:15am people!) and getting up at 5:30 am for work. I'm just sayin'.....take a night off get some sleep, its ok no one will judge you! But she did make time to stop at the local salon, maybe a trim since she left without it being blow-dryed.
