If you are looking for a serious review you might want to check out the review by the LA Times.
In all seriousness, I would say the movie was good. Somewhere in that range of 1 - 5, (1 being awful, 5 being fantabulous) I would give it a solid 3 1/2. I base my score on the following:
1. I did not fall asleep. This might sound odd to you, but I can and will fall asleep in a movie theater if I am even slightly disinterested.
2. I thought the storyline was cute. This may or may not have anything to do with the fact that I met my husband the summer before my senior year in high school, working at Knott's Berry Farm. And may or may not have left the theater a smidge nostalgic. Or was that the beginnings of a mid-life crisis, becasue the movie was set in the summer of 1987, and I would have been in the 8th grade then. I am feeling super old now...
3. There were a couple of moments where I felt myself asking: Bella? Bella, is that you? What are you doing in Pittsburgh? Does Edward know you are here?
4. I thought Kristen Stewart and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job. (The LA Times gives a WAY better review in this department)
5. I did find myself wondering why they felt the need to show so many scenes that included driving while drunk and/or high. ( I am old and have kids. I think that there is some rule that I must have issues about this...)
6. Kristen's character Em drives a "Gremlin", which may have been the only car worse than a Pinto. (Flashback to the horrible day when I was 16, and my dad was trying to convince me that a metallic gold '78 Pinto would be a great car for me to drive (I remember him using a the line:"It has air conditioning AND a radio with a cassette player")... for the record I ended up with a Midnight Blue '83 Mustang with A/C, radio, no cassette player... I loved that car.)
My recommendation would be to go see Adventureland. Just maybe for bargain pricing, "full price after 6" pricing, maybe not depending on what else is playing...
